About the project
This is a real and virtual network/community of businesses, educators and students collaborating to ensure the effective implementation of the new Diploma.
Under the auspices of the National Endowment for Science, Technology and the Arts (NESTA), Education Business Plus/Connexions in partnership with the Creative Industries Support Project (CrISP) has established Diplomanet Cheshire in August 2008.
The current focus is piloting an innovative approach to work-related learning to coincide with the Diploma.
The Diploma is a new qualification designed to introduce High School and College students to the world of work and to begin to develop their employability as well as academic ability.
At least twenty businesses will work with this year’s teachers and thirty-six students; nine from Mid Cheshire College, fourteen from Rudheath Community High School and fifteen from the County High School Leftwich.
Businesses representing a vast resource of knowledge and expertise have pledged their support for the duration of the academic year.
This exciting process all starts with project briefs designed for students by businesses in consultation with teachers.
